Relating Science and Biblical Matters

 When I think of the future of science I see it continuing while life will continue to

move forward as God said it would. Biblically The Lord says in Matthew 24:6, “You will

hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must

happen, but the end is still to come” (NIV). Many times there have been predictions, guesses

at when the world will end but the Lord says in Matthew 24:36, “But about that day or hour

no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (NIV).

Knowing as a believer this is part of the way it is to be, means to not give in to turmoil but to

continue your search in him and to spread the word of the gospel.

 There is no comparison of any other book to the Bible when it comes to science,

history as a witness. While others who claim to predict the end the dates pass by but the bible

continues to reflect upon such instances. Such as, Daniel 12:4 which gives direction to seal

the books and that knowledge will continue to increase. Luke 21:25 gives way to the nature

of the sun, moon, stars and the oceans roaring will be perplexing. The question is clear to

scientist and to believers that there is an end that we may be approaching and could be

tomorrow or it could be a thousand years from now. Yet while science advances the bible is

simply the unscientific truth that is “faith based on established evidence” according to the

Living Waters. How can the bible be scientific you say? Hebrews 11:3 reads, “By faith we

understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so thatwhat is seen was

not made out of what was visible” (NIV). This scientific discovery is the atom,

knowledge that has come over time as God said it would, that gives understanding to

everything being made up of it. Job 26:7, “He spreads out the northern skies over empty

space; he suspends the earth over nothing” (NIV) Northern Hemisphere and Job 9:9 displays

the knowledge of the Southern Hemisphere, “He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the

Pleiades and the constellations of the south” (NIV).

 While scientist gain knowledge of the world it is deemed founded by man, yet the

bible written so long before discoveries of such have always been. Even Job is presented with

a question from God in Job 38:19. God ask, “What is the way to the abode of light? And

where does darkness reside?”, “Where does light come from, and where does darkness go?”

(NLT). While scientist have learned the understanding of light, the way has always already

been understood by one who is greatest because the creator himself knows all and all

knowledge come from him. Fearing God is the beginning of knowledge and only fools need

not head to instruction (Prov. 1:7 NIV). We were made in his image (Gen. 1:27 NIV);

therefore, bound to wise and complete knowledge that inhibits us to seek it. We entreat

because he created us to be seekers of truth (Jeremiah 29:13, NIV) and (Acts 17:26-27, NIV),

to crave him and to thirst for him (Psalm 63:1). Seeking knowledge (science) outside of the

Lord will just be science by man’s accord but place science with seeking the Lord and

wisdom of beauty and wonders come alive, leaving the soul not bound by restlessness but

tied in faith springing forth in that of his spirit, quenching the soul.


